Reviews for Heather Ross Prints : 50+ Designs and 20 Projects to Get You Started

Library Journal Reviews 2012 November #2

Illustrator and textile designer Ross (Weekend Sewing) presents a collection of illustrations and projects for crafters interested in using drawings or other artwork to create one-of-a-kind home decor and wardrobe items. The projects, which include easy-to-sew pillowcases and napkins, a simple stitched journal, and custom-printed notepads, are easily accessible to most crafters with basic supplies on hand. Ross not only shares her own artwork, but provides a step-by-step guide for would-be designers who are interested in creating their own designs using Photoshop and a scanner or computerized drawing tablet. The DVD includes 32 of Ross's illustrations--many of them whimsical depictions of animals or nature--as well as ready-made templates and illustrations for the projects in the book. Instructions and resources for printing custom fabric and wallpaper are included. VERDICT Crafters who like Ross's aesthetic will appreciate her generous approach to sharing her art, as well as the creative ideas for incorporating unique, custom-made designs into their home's decor.
