School Library Journal Reviews 2010 November
Gr 6-8--These well-written and informative titles highlight the cultural contributions of America's largest ethnic groups. Each book opens with a background chapter about the group and its migration to the United States, followed by chapters about its language, contributions to literature, performing arts and sports, religious traditions, ethnic celebrations, and foods (simple recipes are included). Large color photographs, sidebars, and reprints of USA Today articles about controversial topics or trends augment the narratives. This series will help students understand how various groups contribute to modern America's cultural mosaic. [Page 60]. (c) Copyright 2010.
