Reviews for Bids, Tenders & Proposals : Winning Business Through Best Practice

Book News Reviews
This guide details how to win contracts for projects of any size, as well as research awards and government funding, through competitive bids or tenders. Lewis discusses public-sector procurement, contracts for private-sector clients, and applications for research funding in the European Union, and covers the whole process, from deciding to bid to producing tenders and making presentations to clients. In this edition, he also addresses e-tendering and includes information on bidding for lottery grants and London 2012 Olympics contracts. Changes in the European procurement framework since 2007 and developments in the structure of EU research funding are addressed. Material on pre-qualification, analyzing the bid specification, structuring the bid, quality management, contract management, and communicating added value has been expanded. The book does not cover tendering for supplies or works contracts or "design, build, and operate" schemes. Lewis is a writer, editor, and independent consultant who has written about 300 successful bids and proposals. There is no bibliography. Annotation ©2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (
