Reviews for Nest of Serpents

Booklist Reviews 2013 February #2
The latest episode in this hack-'em-and-stack-'em epic once again advances multiple story lines "awash," as the author puts it in one scene, "with beer, blood, and body parts." The scattered allies of young Drew Ferran, werewolf and royal heir, continue their efforts to resist both foreign invaders and indigenous, cannibal Wyldlings. Notable both for its violence and for a cast in which the major players belong to families of shape-changing "therianthropes"--from panthers and bears to rats, crows, and a huge evil serpent whose gruesome slaughter constitutes the climax--the series continues apace. Horn Book Guide Reviews 2013 Fall
Besieged by enemies old and new, werewolf Drew and his allies fight multiple battles across the seven kingdoms to bolster their struggling rebellion and reclaim Drew's throne in these fourth and fifth installments. Satisfying fight scenes and plot twists propel the books at breakneck speed, but the large cast often bogs down the central plots. [Review covers these Wereworld titles: Nest of Serpents and Storm of Sharks.]
