Reviews for Burned

Booklist Reviews 2013 February #2
In this twelfth installment in the Pretty Little Liars series, Aria, Hanna, Emily, and Spencer take an "educational" eco-cruise. The question of who the stalker "A" is remains, while a few of the girls hook up with romantic possibilities who may--or may not--offer threats. One is Emily's stowaway roommate, Jordan, a teen desperada who seems to have more than a few justice agencies in hot pursuit of her. And then there's that locket Spencer's boyfriend gives her, the one that just might once have belonged to the girl the Pretty Little Liars possibly killed back in Wanted (2010). Fans will be heartened that the closing offers more signs of further episodes. Copyright 2012 Booklist Reviews.

Horn Book Guide Reviews 2013 Fall
In Burned, the four friends set sail on a Caribbean cruise ship--with A aboard to torment them. Lies, a prequel, is told from the perspective of Courtney, the twin who stole Real Ali's identity. Hooked readers will need encyclopedic knowledge of the vast, long-running series to keep the PLL's misdeeds straight, but Shepard--again--leaves them wanting more.
