Reviews for Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish

Horn Book Guide Reviews 2005 Spring
The title gives the premise; the conflict comes when Dad is further swapped by the former goldfish owner for a guitar, again swapped for a gorilla mask, and finally for a rabbit before returning home at last. The story is funny but overextended and lacking a payoff; the mixed-media illustrations are fresh and imaginatively designed but don't justify their extravagance.
